Getting Involved

Interested in getting involved in the Global Chaucers project? There are many ways:

• Join our public Global Chaucers group on Facebook! We share resources and links of interest to people working in the fields of Chaucer adaptation, translation in theory and practice, and medievalism studies.

• If you have expertise or interest in some aspect of non-English Chaucer translation or adaptation, we welcome guest blog posts and analysis. See for instance previous guest-postings on Danish, Argentinian, and Latin-language contexts.

• If you teach Chaucer in translation or incorporate modern adaptation into your classes, consider using this question bank for interviewing translators and this survey for students.

And finally:

Would you like to tell us about a non-English work of Chaucerian adaptation you’ve discovered? Please submit your entry to us by email at this address. We eventually aim to create descriptive entries for each item, and want to be sure to acknowledge everyone’s contributions. [See the SAMPLE ENTRY below.]

We are flexible with the “post-1945 non-Anglophone” designation here. If you’re aware of a work of Chauceriana that pre-dates 1945 but seems interesting enough to include here, let us know. Likewise, if you you happen to know of a work of Chauceriana that is written in a regional, “nonstandard” or otherwise interesting variety of English, we’d still be happy to have this information as well.

Author or Creator: Jean RAY [also publ. in Dutch as John FLANDERS; also known as Raymond de KREMER and other aliases].

[Different cultures have different naming conventions: some place the family name first, some place it last. In the interests of clarity and consistency, any author’s surname (i.e., the name one would use to conduct a search) will be listed in capital letters.]
